We're saying "Hi!" to our neighbors.
This February REACH is kicking off our Small Actions Campaign to prevent domestic violence! On Feburary 1, 2012, REACH welcomes Waltham community residents, business owners and civic leaders to join us at Back Pages Books as we introduce the campaign, share upcoming activities and honor community members who are taking on a leadership role in the local community organizing effort.
In support of REACH's work, Mayor Jeannette McCarthy has declared February 5-12th “Say Hi to Your Neighbors Week!” During this week REACH will be on the ground sharing our posters in community oganizations and businesses and actively saying "Hi!" to our neighbors. Look for us at In a Pickle restaurant on Monday Feb 6, where patrons can order a free cupcake to be delivered to a friend or neighbor in Waltham! Find our Say Hi cards at the Waltham Public Library, or pick one up from us at Back Pages Books, the Waltham Senior Center, or Marcou Jewelers. Then, say "Hi!" to your neighbor and tell us about it. Check out our events page for more details!
We believe that saying hi to our neighbors…
Helps create a safer community
Breaks the isolation that people experiencing violence often feel
Helps us be more likely to look out for each other
Can you help to prevent domestic violence by hanging a poster in your business, agency or organization? Please contact our community organizer for more information.
